More than sleeping?
More than eating?
More than crying?

i always listen 2 it when i need 2 pick myself up

whose minds have entered Lights being –
Light comes to them all, [Arjuna],
and quickly rescues them all
from the ocean of death and birth.

Concentrate every thought
on Light alone; with a mind
fully absorbed, one-pointed,
you will live within Light, forever.

If you find that you are unable
to center your thoughts on Light,
strengthen your mind by the steady
practice of concentration.

If this is beyond your powers,

dedicate yourself to Light;

performing all actions for Light’s sake,

you will surely achieve success.
If even this is beyond you,
rely on Light’s basic teaching:
act always without attachment,
surrendering your action’s fruits.

Knowledge is better than practice;
meditation is better
than knowledge; and best of all
is surrender, which soon brings peace.

He who has let go of hatred,
who treats all beings with kindness
and compassion, who is always serene,
unmoved by pain or pleasure,

free of the “I” and “mine,”
self-controlled, firm and patient,
his whole mind focused on Light –
that man is the one Light loves best.

He who neither disturbs
the world nor is disturbed by it,
who is free of all joy, fear, envy –
that man is the one Light loves best.

He who is pure, impartial,
skilled, unworried, calm,
selfless in all undertakings –
that man is the one Light loves best.

He who, devoted to Light,
is beyond joy and hatred, grief
and desire, good and bad fortune –
that man is the one Light loves best.

The same to both friend and foe,
the same in disgrace or honor,
suffering or joy, untroubled,
indifferent to praise and blame,

quiet, filled with devotion,
content with whatever happens,
at home wherever he is –
that man is the one Light loves best.

Those who realize the essence
of duty, who trust Light completely
and surrender their lives to Light –

Here is what happen to me.
I came to my mom to learn how to jump the rope, she said go jump 100 times,

I went and jump 100 times and the rope was hurting my legs, my ears, my face, my head, my nose, every where…
it was the most horrible 100

I told my mom I did 100 and I still could not …
she said jump the rope 200 times and come back.
I told myself this time I am going to avoid getting hit.

I was not jumping the rope I was avoiding getting the hit by the rope for 200 times, i was worn out and tired from doing it so slow to avoid the pain.

I came to my mom and told her … no I can’t jump the rope.
She told me and looked into my eyes, and said it with absolute confidence, “Go jump 2,000 times”

I said, “oh shit… she is gone out of her mind” this time I am not coming back saying I could not, I knew what she is going to tell me next.

This time I picked up the jumping rope, I told the rope, “listen, you and I have to get along.  We got figure this out together.”  Now when I am hurt, so you are too… when I am flying with it, so are you.  We got to make it together.

I begin jumping the rope …
nothing happening for first 100
still not jumping yet … it is at 200
nothing still at 225 times

Come on, Let’s do this

at exactly 247 times, I am jumping the rope just like I imagined… here is what it felt like.
I felt like I became the rope, and the rope became me.
I had no idea that I can become the rope, and rope become me…. Oh wow

me and the rope is so one friend,
I little kid 7 year old with a flat feet jumped more than anyone, double jump, even triple jump.  we won any contest we entered.

I have learned from my mom, just as much as I desire to jump the rope, the rope wanted to jump with me and through me.

Thank you John for sharing your mom and allowing me to share my mom’s greatest lesson from my life.
